I am so thankful for books, and that I have access to new ideas and ways of approaching my life. In the past week, Gigi has phased out of obedient and sweet, and is entering something much more monsterly. She is pushing boundaries, figuring out how much power I will give her, and she is almost two. She is still my daughter and I'm crazy about her, but it's time to sit down with my books again and get a few more ideas of how to move forward in the smartest way. I love at how every shift of her development I can revisit friends who have gone before me, and prepare a more educated approach to parenting this little rascal.

I hear you!! Will is so trying at the moment and he's just turned 1 - yikes. Bet you can't stay mad for too long though. She's so darn cute Metta :-)
Seriously, I'm ALWAYS reading a parenting book. I never read them cover to cover and often have a hard time remembering what I read, but there is always one sitting on my nightstand ready for me to grab at any given moment. Sometimes two. Right now it is "Siblings Without Rivalry" and "1-2-3 Magic: Effective Discipline for Children 2-12" (haven't read much of the latter yet). Thank goodness for educated advice!
Ugh! That day is approaching too soon for us too!
just a heads up to read a head to 3 yrs old because that seems to be when we want to sell our kids on Ebay! 2 isn't so bad but 3 yr olds really want to be independent.
