If I wrote Poetry
If I wrote poetry
I would capture, in one line
the milky sigh of my tiny child slumped slumbering against me in the night
and the way it catches, rips, tangles my breath
to feel
entirely
trusted,
and the humility of knowing that, despite my
boister, my bigness, my clumse
I have made an angel
feel
entirely
safe.

i think you just wrote poetry. beautiful.
I love how in-love you guys are with your baby girl... It's really amazing what that kind of love can do... Even make us poetic once in a while :)
Love it, Metta! It evokes a beautiful image.
I especially like "clumse"
perfect summation, no true-r sentiments
Beautiful!
That is beautiful. Sounds like you DO write poetry.
